Anita M. Sampson, 94, of Morris, passed away Wednesday, July 17, 2024 at her home with her loving family by her side.
Born December 2nd, 1929, in Morris, the daughter of Bayliss and Maye (Larson) Enger. She graduated from Morris High School in 1947. Anita married Orville “Bud” Sampson on December 12, 1958. They lived all of their married life in Morris. She was employed several years at the National Tea Store and served as a lunch lady for School District #54 Center School.
She is survived by her children: Randy (Deb) Sampson; Scott (Missy) Sampson; and Todd Sampson of Morris, IL; grandchildren Trevor (fiancé Holly Deckelman) Sampson of Channahon, IL; Tanner Sampson of Plainfield, IL; and Brooke Sampson of Morris, IL. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband “Bud” Sampson in 1998; and her son Rick Sampson in 1975.
She was an active member of the Bethlehem Lutheran Church where she served on various committees and regularly donated blood to the Red Cross.
She was an avid Chicago Cubs fan. She loved cooking, playing cards, and baking her famous Kringlas. She enjoyed most spending time with her children and grandchildren.
Memorials may be given to the Bethlehem Lutheran Church Radio Fund or Lightways Hospice.
Funeral services will be held Monday, July 22nd, 2024 at 11 am at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Morris, IL, with Pastor Gerald Steele officiating. Interment will follow at Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Monday from 9am until the time of service at the church.
