Herman W. Westrick, Jr.

Age 79 of Wilmington, passed away unexpectedly Saturday, October 31, 2015 at his home.

Born January 20, 1936 in Auburn, Indiana, Herman William was a son of the late Herman W., Sr. and Eleanor Westrick. He was raised and educated in Auburn, and on July 6, 1957, Herman married Betty L. Nodine in Indiana.  Herman farmed for Rink Farms, Inc. in Wilmington for more than 45 years, and was a member of Saint Rose Catholic Church.  A proud NRA member, Herman was an avid hunter and fisherman, as well as all around handyman. Herman enjoyed reading, watching westerns, working with auto mechanics, and going to lunch and coffee with his friends.

Herman is the father of Gary Westrick of Streator, Daniel Westrick of Diamond, Christina Fiedler of Coal City and James Westrick of Riverside, California; grandfather of Nicole Fiedler, as well as eight other grandchildren, and great grandfather of seven.

Herman was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Betty on October 2, 2004, and his three brothers.

Visitation and Video Tribute will be on Thursday, November 5, 2015 between the hours of 5:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. at Baskerville Funeral Home, 700 East Kahler Road in Wilmington.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Saint Rose Catholic Church, 604 South Kankakee Street on Friday, November 6, 2015, at 10:00 a.m. with Reverend Steve Bondi officiating. Burial will follow in Mount Olivet Cemetery in Wilmington.
