Alice J. Seeman "JoAnn"
Age 88, of Crest Hill, Illinois, formerly of Shorewood, Morris, and Joliet, Illinois died on Saturday, July 18, 2026, at Willow Falls Assisted Living in Crest Hill.
Born on October 15, 1937, in Joliet, Illinois, Alice JoAnn was the daughter of Ralph and Johanna (Wilson) Minto. She was raised and educated in Joliet, where she graduated from Joliet Township High School with the Class of 1955. She later attended Joliet Junior College, earning her associate's degree. On October 4, 1958, JoAnn married the love of her life, Donald Eugene Seeman, at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Joliet, beginning a marriage filled with love and devotion.
JoAnn began her career at the Joliet Arsenal, where she worked from 1967 to 1971 as a Melt Pour Operator and Inspector. She later joined Perella & Company Construction in Joliet, where she dedicated 20 years of service as an office manager before retiring.
She served on the Morris City Council for four years and was an active member of the Business and Professional Women of Grundy County, where she served two terms as treasurer. She was also a member of the Girls of the Glen in Shorewood.
JoAnn had a lifelong love of learning and especially enjoyed exploring different countries, cultures, and ways of life. She and her husband, Donald, shared a passion for travel and created many cherished memories together as they explored the world. In her spare time, she enjoyed knitting, playing cards, and spending time with her beloved pugs. Known for her strong work ethic, professionalism, and poise, JoAnn approached every endeavor with dedication and integrity.
She is survived by her children: Danielle Taylor of Joliet, Dawn Eckert, of Springfield, Illinois, Deborah Seeman of Morris, and Denise (Randy) Risner of Wrightsville, Pennsylvania; as well as numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
JoAnn is preceded in death by her parents, and her husband, Donald.
Memorials may be made as gifts in JoAnn's name to Lightways Hospice.
The family will receive friends for a visitation at Reeves Funeral Home, 408 East Washington Street, in Morris on Thursday, July 23, 2026, from 3:00 p.m. until the time of funeral service at 4:30 p.m.
She will be privately laid to rest at Woodlawn Memorial Park with her husband, Donald.
