Age 36 of Braidwood, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, September 21, 2019.

Born May 26, 1983 in Palos Park, Illinois, Amiejean is the daughter of David Slager of Braidwood and the late Kimberly (nee Marquardt) Solley. She was raised in Braidwood, and received her confirmation at Grace Lutheran Church in Wilmington. Amie was a 2001 graduate of Reed Custer High School, where she enjoyed playing softball and volleyball. She loved music and was a loyal friend who would do anything for anyone. Amie cherished her children and dearly loved watching them play soccer. Remembered for her heart of gold, Amie will be deeply missed by the ones she loved and those that loved her.

Survivors include her father and step-mother, David and Chris Slager and step-father, Harry Solley, all of Braidwood; children: Damien and Sadie; brother and sister-in-law, David “D.J.” and Danielle Slager of Aurora; nieces and nephews: Ethan, Carter, Logan and Audrey; aunts and uncles: Judith and Ronald Brown of Braidwood, Ray and Linda Marquardt of Mokena, Brent and Michelle Marquardt of Manhattan and Marlene and Bob Kohr of Mississippi; several great aunts and great uncles, and numerous cousins.

Amie was preceded in death by her mother, Kim Solley on July 21, 2019, as well as her grandparents: Raymond and Nancy Marquardt and George and Bernice Slager.

The family will receive friends for a visitation on Friday, September 27, 2019  from 5:00 p.m. until the time of funeral service 7:00 p.m. at Reeves Funeral Home, 75 North Broadway (one block north of Illinois Route 113) in Coal City. Pastor Randy Adams from Christian Life Assembly will officiate along with Larry Osborn, and cremation rites will be accorded following the services.

Preferred memorials may be made as gifts in Amie’s memory to her family for the future benefit and education of her children.
