Angie D. Carr
Age 88 of Wilmington, Illinois went home to be with Jesus on Friday evening, January 9, 2026.
Angie was born on July 18, 1937, in Fayette County near Ramsey, Illinois. She was a daughter of Ora E. and Elsie M. (Carlock) McCaslin. She was raised and educated in Pana, Illinois, where she later met the love of her life. On July 24, 1954, Angie married Charles L. Carr in Pana, beginning a devoted marriage rooted in faith, love, and service.
Known lovingly as Sister Angie, she was a woman of unwavering faith whose life was dedicated to ministry, family, and helping others. In addition to being a devoted wife and mother, Angie served the Lord faithfully for most of her life. She pastored a church in Crest Hill for eight years, later pastored the Wilmington Full Gospel Pentecostal Church, and in recent years continued preaching at the Wilmington Pentecostal Church. Her calling was clear, and her heart for God and people was evident in all she did.
Sister Angie was always there for anyone in need, offering encouragement, prayer, and compassion. Reading her Bible was her greatest joy, and she cherished time spent in God’s Word. A wonderful cook, she also enjoyed watching cooking shows in her later years. Through her faith and example, Angie touched countless lives, serving as a mentor to many and leaving a lasting impact on all who knew her. She deeply cherished Jesus, her church, and her family.
Her family was her greatest treasure, and nothing brought her more joy than her children and grandchildren.
Though she is gone from our sight, there is peace in knowing that Sister Angie is now safe in the arms of Jesus, joyfully reunited with loved ones and those she helped draw closer to Him.
Survivors include two children: Donald (Yolanda) Carr of Mesa, Arizona and Marcia Manegold of Wilmington; three grandchildren: Jenni (Peter) D’Souza, Donald Jr. (Justine) Carr and Nicole (Mark) Palma; six great grandchildren: Katherine Carr (Michael Russell), Matthew Palma, Sophia Palma, Remi Carr, Kaylee D'Souza and Quinn D’Souza; two great-great grandchildren, Jorah Russell and Juniper Russell, and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends for a visitation at Baskerville Funeral Home, 700 East Kahler Road in Wilmington on Friday, January 16, 2026 from 9:30 a.m. until time of funeral service 11:30 p.m. Her son, Don Carr, Sr. will officiate. Burial will follow in Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood, Illinois at 1:00 p.m. where she will be laid to rest with her late husband.
