Age 62, of Diamond, Illinois, and formerly of Channahon, Illinois, passed away unexpectedly at her home on Wednesday, October 29, 2025.
Born on October 10, 1963, in Joliet, Illinois, AnnaMarie is the beloved daughter of Geraldine “Gerry” (Lamping) Super of Channahon, and the late Lawrence “Larry” Super. She grew up in Channahon and was a graduate of Minooka High School with the Class of 1981. On October 27, 1984, AnnaMarie married the love of her life, Gary Read, in Minooka. Together, they built a beautiful life and raised two daughters who were the center of her world.
Over the years, AnnaMarie worked at Testa’s IGA, Big R, and as a bartender. She also enjoyed her time with the Census Bureau. She had a keen eye for treasures, where she assumed quite a collection of beautiful glassware. AnnaMarie was always exploring garage sales and thrift stores, seeking to find the perfect item for someone in need. A creative soul, she loved painting, crafting, and helping Gary with his concrete projects.
AnnaMarie had a deep love for music, from her favorite Bob Seger tunes to the concerts she attended with her brother Mike and daughters over the years. She and Gary often escaped to Wisconsin for a peaceful getaway, and no gathering was complete without her laughter and spirited sense of humor. Known as the life of the party, she delighted in pulling pranks, dancing, playing bingo and cards, and hosting birthday games of “bump” which were never complete without her handmade trophies.
Above all, AnnaMarie’s greatest joy came from her grandchildren, her beloved “sweet peas.” She poured her heart into every visit, always ready with a stash of Tootsie Rolls. Holidays were magical in her home, filled with her famous scavenger hunts and generous gifts that reflected her giving spirit.
AnnaMarie’s warmth, creativity, and zest for life touched everyone she met. Her love for family and friends was boundless, and her legacy of joy, laughter, and kindness will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
Survivors include her mother, Gerry; husband of 41 years, Gary; two daughters and sons-in-law (whom she treated as sons): Nicole and Charles Geisen of Bradley and Alisha and Anthony Denny of Coal City; five grandchildren: Julian, Jayla, Loren, Xavier and Felicity, and one brother, Mike Super of Channahon, as well as numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
AnnaMarie was preceded in death by her father, Larry Super (June 2025) and her brother, Mark Super (2006).
The family will receive friends for a visitation at Reeves Funeral Home, 75 N.
