"TONY"

Age 83 of Coal City, passed away Wednesday May 3, 2006 at his home.

Born August 23, 1922 in Coal City, Tony was a son of the late Anton and Anna (Kratky) Unger. He was raised and educated in Coal City and graduated with the Coal City High School Class of 1940. Tony was a World War II Veteran and served in the US Coast Guard. On November 23, 1949 Tony married Phyllis Fern (Valiente) Arens in St. Lawrence Catholic Church in South Wilmington. Together Tony and Fern lived their entire married life in Coal City. Most of his life Tony worked for A.P. Green Clay Products, where he was employed until his retirement in 1984. Tony was a member of Assumption Catholic Church in Coal City and in his spare time he enjoyed gardening, playing cards and shopping.

Survivors include his two daughters: Nancy (James) Micetich of Coal City and Kris (Terry) Gaughan of Elmhurst. Six grandchildren: Mark (Sophie) Micetich and Matt Micetich, both of Joliet, Tim Micetich of Aurora, Katie (Mike) Nunag of Lisle, Colleen Gaughan of Chicago and Patrick Gaughan of Madison, Wisconsin. Three great grandchildren: Simon Leclair and Brandon and Marissa Micetich. One sister Marie Leve of Coal City and two sisters-in-law: Yolanda Valiente of Coal City and Theresa Unger of Joliet, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Tony was preceded in death by his parents, wife Fern (1998), one brother Edward Unger and one sister Elsie Walsh.

Visitation and Video Tribute will be held on Sunday May 07, 2006 between the hours of 2:00PM and 6:00PM at Reeves Funeral Home, 75 North Broadway (One block North of Illinois Route 113) in Coal City.

Funeral services will follow on Monday May 8th at 10:00AM in Assumption Catholic Church in Coal City where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated with Rev. Mike Pennock officiating and Deacon Robert Stansberry Jr.

Burial will full military honors will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery in Braidwood and Tony's grandchildren will act as pallbearers.

Preferred memorial may be made as gifts in Tony's memory to the Coal City School District - Unit One Foundation, 415 N. Garfield, Coal City, Illinois 60416

Funeral services and arrangements are under the direction of Reeves Funeral Homes, Ltd. in Coal City.
