ANTON "Tony" BARTOL

Age 81 of Morris, passed away Wednesday November 9, 2005 at St. John's Regional Medical Center in Joplin, Missouri.

Born July 22, 1924 in Joliet, Tony was a son of the late Anton and Anna (Peterlin) Bartol. Tony was raised and educated in Joliet and on April 26, 1943 he was inducted in the US Army, where he served in the Asiatic Theater of Operations during World War II. On February 01, 1943 Tony married Frances Gonda and together they lived their entire married life in Morris. Tony worked at Diamond International (Smurfit), and after his retirement he gained employment with the Grundy County Farm Bureau and he was a Federal Grain Inspector for over 20 years. Tony was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Morris and a lifetime member of the John Martin Steele VFW Post #6049.

Survivors include his three daughters: Toni (Robert) Loudon of Channahon, Karen (Mark) Cole of Pittsburg, Kansas and Bonnie (Brad) Diddams of Tempe, Arizona. (7) Grandchildren: Christine (Eric) Symons of Minooka, Michael Loudon of Channahon, Sarah Loudon of Joliet, Chelsea Cole and Hilary Cole, both of Pittsburg, Kansas and Margaret Diddams and Rebecca Diddams, both of Tempe, Arizona. Three great grandchildren: Kay Loudon, Daniel and Katie Symons. One brother Matthew (Anita) Bartol of Baraboo, Wisconsin and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins, as well as a dear friend Dolores Herubin of Morris.

Tony was preceded in death by his parents, wife Frances in 1996 and one sister Mary Lou Chinderle.

Visitation and Video Tribute will be held on Sunday November 13, 2005 between the hours of 3:00PM and 6:00PM at Reeves Funeral Home, 408 East Washington Street (One block East of Illinois Route 47) in Morris. Funeral services will follow on Monday November 14th at 10:00AM in Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Morris, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated with Rev. Richard Smith and Deacon Robert Stansberry officiating.

Burial with full military honors will be in Mount Carmel Cemetery in Morris.

Preferred memorials may be made as gifts in Tony's memory to the Immaculate Conception School Endowment Fund, 505 East North Street, Morris, IL 60450.
