Antonio Ledesma, Sr.

Age 84 of Coal City and formerly of Chicago, passed away Saturday, April 24, 2021 at home.

Born May 10, 1936 in San Benito, Texas, Antonio was a son of Higinio, Sr. and Maria (Bernal) Ledesma. He worked as an over the road, as well as local truck driver and retired from Ridol, Inc. He was a great fan of Notre Dame and will be remembered for his love of wresting and bowling.

Survivors include his children: Antonio Ledesma, Jr. of Michigan City, Indiana, Yolanda (Edward) O’Shaughnessy of Orland Park, Donna (Ricardo) Ybarra of Chicago, Robert (Terese) Ledesma of Coal City and Wanda (Stanley) Palm of Chicago, and his former wife, the mother of his children: Patricia Ledesma of Chicago. Antonio was also a grandfather, great grandfather, great-great grandfather and uncle to many.

Cremation rites have been accorded.

The family will receive friends for a memorial visitation at New Hope Presbyterian Church, 80 North Garfield Street in Coal City on Saturday, May 8, 2021 from 11:00 a.m. until the time of memorial service 12:30 p.m. Reverend Mark Hughey will officiate.

Masks will be required to be worn by all attendees of the services.

Those wishing to participate in the services virtually are welcome to join the live stream on Saturday, May 8, 2021 beginning at 12:30 p.m. A link for the event will be available on Antonio’s memorial page.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made as gifts in Antonio’s memory to a charity of the donor’s choosing.
