ARTHUR STANLEY VALENTINE

Age 88 of Chicago, passed away Monday, March 27, 2006 at Manor Care in Palos Heights, Illinois.

Born July 21, 1917, Arthur was a loving son of the late William and Margaret Valentine. Arthur was a WWII Army Air Corp Veteran (served with the 335th Sig Co t/c Wing); employed as an operating engineer for the City of Chicago Water Department Local #399 (retired at age 75); Life member of VFW Post #5220 and American Legion Auxiliary of Mt. Greenwood Post #844; American Post #0001; Mt. Greenwood Civic Association; parishioner of St. Christina since 1924 and a Knight of Lithuania. Arthur was an avid reader and gardener, he maintained the grave sites at St. Casmir Cemetery; he belonged to many book clubs, collected stamps and coins and followed any sport on TV or radio. Arthur joined the Baseball Hall of Fame and passed his drivers test in 2005. He was proud to serve as an Election Judge and sold poppies every memorial day. Arthur will rest in our hearts forever.

Arthur was a precious brother of Margaret Elaine Valentine, William (Sible) Valentine and Helen (Richard) Rothe and was preceded in death by his sister Sylvia and brother Daumont. He was a proud and devoted uncle of Richard (Ellen) Rothe, Helen (Gary) Pakalka, Cheryl Ralston, Daumont (Kelly) Valentine, Michael (Vickie) Valentine, William (Marcie) Valentine, Jeffery (Bonnie) Valentine, Mary Margaret (Lee) Wickens, Gary (Rosie) Valentine and Chad (Margo) Valentine. He was also a generous great and great-great uncle to numerous nieces and nephews (Pakalka, Ralston, Sizemore, Valentine, Wickens)

Visitation and Video Tribute will be held on Sunday April 02, 2006 between the hours of 4:00PM and 8:00PM at Reeves Funeral Home, 408 East Washington Street (1 Block East of Illinois Route 47) in Morris.

Funeral services will follow on Monday April 3rd at 10:00AM in Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Morris, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated with Rev. Richard Smith officiating.

Burial with full military honors will be in Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood.

Funeral services and arrangements are under the direction of Reeves Funeral Homes, Ltd. in Morris.
