BETTY JANE TAYLOR

Age 77 of Coal City, passed away Friday morning April 7, 2006 at Morris Hospital.

Born April 11, 1928 in Morris, Betty was a daughter of the late George and Sophie (Brandt) Scaman. On December 28, 1946 Betty married John W. "Bud" Taylor in Morris, and together they lived their entire married life in Coal City. In Betty's free time she enjoyed shopping and crafting.

Survivors include one daughter Judy Phillips of Coal City; two sons: James (Jeanne) Taylor of Morris and Rick (Belinda) Taylor of Coal City; (9) Grandchildren: Michael (Jen) Phillips, Scott (Lydia) Phillips and Tony Phillips, Tom (Danielle) Taylor, Laura Taylor, Dawn Taylor and Rickey Taylor and Matthew Trofimchuck and Amanda Trofimchuck. Five great grandchildren: Brandon, Jacob, Hannah, Michael and Ali; one sister Yvonne (Robert) Kilpatrick of Norfolk, Arkansas; one brother: Ken (Clara) Scaman of Morris and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins, as well as her best friends: Marge Storm of Gardner and Joanne Dummitt of Morris.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents, husband Bud in 1987, three brothers: Elmer "Squeak" Scaman, Ray Scaman and George Scaman; two sisters: Irene Gajczak and Lillian Burnik and her stepfather Mike Bertino.

Visitation will be held on Sunday April 09, 2006 between the hours of 4:00PM and 8:00PM at Reeves Funeral Home, 75 North Broadway (one block North of Illinois Route 113) in Coal City. Funeral services will follow on Monday April 10th at 10:00AM in the funeral home with Dr. Thomas Logsdon from the Coal City United Methodist Church officiating.

Burial will be in Braceville a�" Gardner Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be: Michael Phillips, Scott Phillips, Tony Phillips, Tom Taylor, Rickey Taylor and Matt Trofimchuck. Honorary pallbearers will be: Laura Taylor, Dawn Taylor and Amanda Trofimchuck.

Preferred memorials may be made as gifts in Betty's memory to a charity of the donor's choice.

Funeral services and arrangements are under the direction of Reeves Funeral Homes, Ltd. in Coal City.
