Blanche Marie Case

Age 87 of Braidwood, Illinois, died January 27, 2022 at AMITA St. Joseph Medical Center in Joliet, Illinois.

Born June 24, 1934 in Great Falls, Montana, Blanche Marie was a daughter of Ezra William and Loma Phoebe Philomena (Beaulne) Wilson. She was raised and educated in Montana, and on July 2, 1954, Blanche married Clyde J. Case in Great Falls. The new bride being a military wife, the newly weds lived in Turkey and Kansas before settling with their family in Braidwood in 1972.

Blanche was a dedicated wife and mother who was a Cub Scout Den Mother, bowled on Wednesday nights at Riverfront Lanes, where she belonged to the American Bowling Congress and was active with running the youth bowling program for many years. She was a past member of the Wilmington Moose and the Gardner American Legion. Blanche enjoyed craftwork and plastic canvas, and she also did liquid embroidery. She was a fan of the Chicago Cubs and the Chicago Bears; took pleasure in spending time reading on her Kindle, and was a lover of toy poodles. Blanche loved to travel with her husband and go gambling in casinos, and looked forward to annual camping trips with her family. She will be remembered for her passion and generosity in gift giving for all occasions, and cherished helping to care for and raise her grandchildren.

Survivors include her husband, Clyde; three children: Randy Case (Kimberly Crawford) and Terri Marshall Case, both of Braidwood and Sean Case of Gardner; five grandchildren: Michael Quigley, Tina (Rayme) Calhoun, Jason Case, Derek (Tiffany) Case and Ashley Case (Gino Cottini); five great grandchildren: Cody  Ehrsam (Abigail Crady), Kaileigh Calhoun, Patience (Joseph) Dougherty, Riley Case, and Gino Cottini, Jr.; five great great grandchildren: Abby, Rose, Emmie B., Maximus, and Arjem,; one sister-in-law, Shirley Shields, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Blanche was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Debbie Quigley-McKeown; great-great grandson, Joseph Dougherty, Jr., and siblings: Dorothy, James, Gertrude, Madeline, Edward, Joseph, Raymond, Ruth “Dolly”, and Ralph.

The family will receive friends for a visitation at Baskerville Funeral Home, 700 East Kahler Road in Wilmington on Friday, February 4, 2022 from 4:00 p.m. until the time of funeral service 7:00 p.m. Cremation rites will be accorded following the services, and she will be laid to rest in Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood at a later date.
