Bobby Smith

Bobby Joe Smith II

To his family he was Bubbs.

Age 15 of Wilmington, Illinois, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, March 8, 2026.

Born February 28, 2011 in Kankakee, Illinois, Bobby is the son of Carrie Widlacki and Bobby Smith. He was currently attending Wilmington High School as a Freshman where he was an excellent student. Bobby was on the honor roll and was a member of the Chess Club and Math Club, and was proud to have recently been part of the Math Team that took 3rd place in their State competition. He was also a member of the Ignite Christian Church in Braidwood, Illinois, and participated in the youth group. He had many other interests as well.

Bobby had a creative mind and was particularly skilled with building legos and solving puzzles. He enjoyed video games and was a huge fan of Sonic the Hedgehog, as well as beyblades and anything spiderman. Bobby spent several years playing soccer, took pleasure in badminton, and going to the bowling alley. Bobby was aspiring to pursue a career as a Crime Scene Investigator.

He was a gifted young man with excellent problem solving skills, and ever the inquisitive mind. Bobby had a great wit with a healthy amount of sarcasm to go along with it. Bobby loved his family, who will miss him dearly, but he will certainly still be a part of each and every person who knew and loved him, holding a special place in their hearts.
