Age 87, of Morris, Illinois, passed away on Friday, June 5, 2026 at The Gardens in Morris.
Born on November 4, 1938, in Morris, Illinois, Carol Anne was the daughter of Ernest and Florence (Egeland) Osmonson. She was raised and educated in Morris and graduated from Morris High School with the Class of 1956. Carol dedicated more than 50 years of service as a legal secretary with Dunn & Hayes.
A faithful member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Carol served as both a choir member and trustee. She was also an active member of Echo Lanes and Nettle Creek Golf Club. Proud of her Norwegian heritage, Carol especially enjoyed family traditions and never passed up the opportunity to enjoy a piece of kringla. Above all, she cherished time spent with her family, creating lasting memories with those she loved most, especially her four-legged companions. She will be truly missed by all who knew her.
She is survived by her three children: Bobbi (Ed) Skelton of Camden, Tennessee, Mike (Suzanne) Day and Brian (Lisa) Day both of Morris; grandchildren: Nichole (Adam) Akre, Steve (Laurie) Day, Eric Day, Paige Day (Alex Hansen), Carley Day (Brett Cottrell), Markie (Zeke) Lutz, Chelsea (Lizz) Soda, Josselyn (Ross) Morgan, Nolan Harris; great-grandchildren: Austin (Judith) Akre, Grace and Ellie Akre, Sonny Day, Kellen Day, Brady and Scarlett Day, Sophia Day, Mya Harris and soon arriving Baby Lutz, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Carol was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, James Day, brother, Dave Osmonson, grandson, Kellen Day, mother and father-in-law, Laverne and Elza Day as well as her brother-in-law, John Day.
Memorials may be made as gifts in Carol's name to Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Morris.
The family will receive friends for a visitation at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Morris on Wednesday, June 10, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at 12:00 p.m. Pastor Patrick Lohse will officiate.
Following the services, cremation rites will be accorded, and she will be laid to rest at Evergreen Cemetery with her husband, James.
