Carol Ann Edwards

Nee Thomas

Age 70 of Dwight, Illinois passed away July, 25, 2026 peacefully surrounded by family and friends. She was born on October 7, 1955 to George Thomas Sr. and Nancy Thomas (Gillispie). After the passing of her mother, George remarried to Jean. She was a graduate of Tinley Park High School and worked as a care giver.

Being a Nana was one of the greatest joys of her life. She was not just Nana to her grand children and great-grandchildren but to many others that spent time with her. Carol treasured the time spent with family whether in Illinois or Florida, dressing for the holidays or walking the beaches. Carol lived a life centered on family, creating countless memories that will be cherished for generations.

Survivors include her children: Tim (Greer) Edwards Jr., and Melissa (Tim) Clark; bonus children: Katie Whalen and Tracy Hurt; grandchildren: Tyler (Jasmine) Edwards, Julia Edwards, Brandon Edwards, Martin (Natalia) Edwards, Tim (Desirae) Clark, Steven (Ellie) Clark, and Kati Edwards; great grandchildren: Sophia Clark, Beckham Edwards, Ophelia Edwards, Piper Edwards, and Parker Edwards; siblings: Rose (Mike) Roe, Chris (Larry) Delach, Tim (Diane) Thomas, Judy Williams, Brenda (Dan) Wolfe, Kim (John) Eplin, and David (Rena) Thomas; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Carol was preceded in death by her son, Todd Edwards; father George Thomas Sr., mother Nancy Thomas, and step mother Jean Thomas; and her siblings: George Thomas Jr. and Georgina Thomas.

Cremation rites are being accorded and memorial services are being planned for a later date.
