Carol Morin

Age 85 of Coal City, Illinois, died peacefully on Sunday, September 6, 2026 at her home.

Born December 6, 1940 in Joliet, Illinois, Carol Ann was a daughter of Ervin and Jenny (Small) Phillips. She was raised and educated in Wilmington, Illinois and graduated from Wilmington High School with the Class of 1958. Carol raised her two children in Coal City and was proud to see her family flourish by growing to include her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was happiest when she was able to spend time in her yard, tending to her garden, watching her flowers grow and being with her canine companion, Sailor. Carol will be missed deeply by those she loved and those who loved her.

Survivors include her son, Lenny (Carrie) Onsen of Coal City; three grandchildren: Tiger (Jen) Onsen and Cody Onsen, both of Coal City, and Tony (Rose) Francisco of Roselle, Illinois; two great grandchildren: Griffin Onsen and New Baby Boy Onsen expected any day; one sister, Mary (the late John) Manietta of Coal City, and many nieces and nephews.

Carol was preceded in death by her parents; the father of her children, Leonard "Swede" Onsen, her daughter, Tammy Francisco, and two sisters: Marilyn (Gerald) Krell and Joan Schumacher.

Private family services will be held at Braceville Gardner Cemetery where Carol will be laid to rest with Swede.

Preferred memorials may be made as gifts in Carol's memory to Lightways Hospice and Serious Illness Care, 250 Water Stone Circle, Joliet, IL 60431.
