Carol Jean Peterson, 81, of Morris, passed away Friday, May 17, 2024 at Morris Hospital surrounded by her loving family.
Born October 18, 1942 in Streator, IL. She was the daughter of Raymond and Monica (Slattery) Drinan. She graduated from MVK High School Class of 1960. For several years, she was employed at APSA, Robkim Upholstery, and for over 20 years she was employed at the Grundy County National Bank.
She is survived by her children, Cynthia (James deceased) Milton of Morris, IL; Diane (Robert) Grinton of Gurnee, IL; Leslie Peterson of Morris, IL; and Kurt (Patricia) Peterson of Arlington Heights, IL; her grandchildren, Colin Milton; Abigail, William, and Charlotte Grinton; Dominic, Kurt Jr. and Rosemary Peterson. She is survived by one sister Dolores (Gene deceased) Thames of West Chester, OH; sister in-law Maxine Drinan of New Berlin, WI; and her aunt Delores Slattery of Dwight, IL. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond and Monica (Slattery) Drinan; her brother, Gary Drinan; and Jack M. Peterson.
She was a former volunteer and Eucharistic Minister at the Immaculate Conception Parish. She was an avid White Sox fan. She also loved to read, crochet, and spend time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Carol enjoyed hosting and whether if was friends, holidays, or family celebrations, card games were usually part of the fun - especially euchre tournaments.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, May 23, 2024 at 10:00 A.M. at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Morris, IL, with Fr. Jason Stone officiating. Interment will take place at Mount Carmel Cemetery in Morris, IL. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 22, 2024 from 4:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. at Fruland Funeral Home, 121 W. Jefferson St. in Morris.
