Cheryl Lisa Karr

Age 75 of Wilmington, passed away on Monday, October 24, 2022 at her residence with her husband by her side.

Born January 10, 1947 in Joliet, a daughter to Michael A. and Beatrice Auten-Glenney. Cheryl was raised and educated in Wilmington. On November 29, 1975 she married Gregory Karr in Wilmington, and together they cherished 46 years. Cheryl obtained her licensure in Cardiac Sonography and worked for Edward Hospital in Naperville for 8 years and Silver Cross Hospital for 16 years. She was a member of the Area #1 Outdoor Club; American Society of Echo, and was a parishioner of St. Rose Catholic Church in Wilmington. Cheryl enjoyed sewing and flowers, and was an avid art and music enthusiast.

Survivors include three children: Lisa Swaba of Wisconsin, Michael Brown of Detroit and Patrick Brown of Bolingbrook; two grandchildren: Lucas and Andrew VanDuyne of Chicago; three sisters-in-law: Trish Karr of Springfield, MO, Paulette Gates of Springfield, MO, Carol Distefano of Symerton, and brother-in-law, Michael Distefano of Mexico, MO; as well as special friends: Michael C. Terry, Sharon Mosier, April Crawford and Gath How.

Cheryl was preceded in death by her parents and one sister Pamela Allen.

Cremation rites have been accorded per Cheryl's wishes.

Funeral services will be on Tuesday, November 1, 2022 at Saint Rose Catholic Church, 604 South Kankakee Street, in Wilmington at 10:00 a.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated, and graveside services will follow in Mount Olivet Catholic Cemetery in Wilmington.

Preferred memorials in Cheryl's memory may be made as gifts to the family for their distribution.
