Age 67 of Kankakee, formerly of Wilmington, passed away Tuesday August 20, 2019 at Green Tree of Bradley Rehabilitation Center.

Born April 23, 1952 in Joliet, Clarence Eugene was a son of William and Eva (nee Eaton) Mansfield. He worked for Celotex Roofing until its closure, and then Burns Security. Gene also volunteered for many years at Gift of God Street Church in Kankakee.

Survivors include three children: Erica Dennis of Kankakee, Wesley (Mary) Mansfield of Odell, and Patrick Mansfield of Kankakee; one sister: Natallee Anderson of Braidwood; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Gene was preceded in death by his parents, and five siblings: Norma Rogene Countryman, Nancy Brown, Audrey Neeley, William Mansfield, and Jessie Bailey.

Per Gene's wishes, cremation have been accorded, and he will be laid to rest at Oakwood Cemetery in Wilmington on Saturday, September 21, 2019 at 11:00 a.m.
