Cressa DeZee

Age 61 of Wilmington, Illinois and formerly of Diamond and Elwood, Illinois, died Monday evening June 6, 2022 at her home.

Born September 16, 1960 in Joliet, Illinois, Cressa Jane was a daughter of Martin F. and Phyllis J. (Melhorn) Leggero. On August 25, 1998, Cressa married Ken DeZee in Cadiz, Kentucky.

Cressa worked for Sears for 15 years, and in addition to taking enjoyment in camping in Amboy, her greatest hobby was being a grandmother.

Survivors include her husband, Ken; four children: Ruebin Conterez of Coal City, and stepdaughters: Heather DeZee of Minooka, Jennifer DeZee of Tampa, Florida and Jacqueline DeZee of Minooka; four grandchildren: Breanna, Antonio, Carmine and McKenna, and one brother, Marty Leggero of South Carolina.

Cressa was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Annette Smiley.

Cremation rites have been accorded and there will be no formal services held.

Preferred memorials may be made as gifts in Cressa’s memory to Compassionate Care Hospice.
