Daniel A. Gallagher, Sr.

Age 74 of Braidwood, Illinois, formerly of Wilmington and Peotone, died Friday, January 19, 2024 at his home.

Born October 21, 1949 in Joliet, Illinois, Daniel Anthony was a son of Francis and Doris (Groleski) Gallagher. He was raised outside of Wilton Center and graduated from Peotone High School with the Class of 1967. On March 29, 1969 Dan married Pamela Jean Price at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Wilton Center. He worked for the Rexine Palmer Chemical Plant in Joliet, but also worked as a farmer and managed grain elevators in Symerton, Poplar Grove, and Wilmington.

Much of Dan's life revolved around his family. He was a devoted father who took great pride in being involved in his children's activities. He was their baseball and softball coach in little league and was a 4-H Leader for the Willing Wilton Workers. Dan also enjoyed taking his kids camping when they were little, creating great memories. He devoted much of his time to others, but he did take pleasure in golfing or a friendly game of Euchre. Dan truly treasured any time he spent with family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren, and he will be dearly missed.

Survivors include his mother, Doris (the late Gerald) Robbins of Peotone, and his wife of 54 years, Pamela Gallagher; three children: Dan Gallagher (fiance: Jen Vega) of Manhattan, Illinois, Scott Gallagher of Braidwood, and Kristi (Michael) Sorensen of Bradenton, Florida; four grandchildren: Alicia Quigley, Ryan (Lisa) Johnson, Timmothy Gallagher, and Ashley Johnson (Dillon Leslie); three great grandchildren: Raelynn Grygiel, Glen Leslie, and Zoey Johnson; one brother, Steve (Brenda) Gallagher of Peotone, and one sister, Debbie (the late Al) Robbins of Manhattan; one brother-in-law, Randy (Paula) Price of Wilmington, and several nieces and nephews.

Dan was preceded in death by his father, Francis; one brother, Larry Gallagher; his mother and father-in-law: Bob and Jean Price; and his brother-in-law and sister-in-law: Mark Price and Beverley Price.
