Daria Sorokowskyj

Age 74 of Gardner, Illinois, died Monday, July 27, 2026 at Serenity Estates in Morris, Illinois.

Born January 11, 1952 in England, Daria was a daughter of Michael and Maria Sosniak. She attended college and then gained employment as an administrative assistant with Sargent & Lundy Engineering, where she dedicated 35 years of service until she retired. In her free time, Daria enjoyed watching television and reading, as well as cooking. She was a devoted wife and mother whose sense of humor was one of a kind. Daria was a selfless woman with a sweet disposition that resonated with anyone who met her.

Survivors include two sons: Mark and Nicholas Sorokowskyj; and one sister: Irene (Bill) Duncan. Daria was preceded in death by her parents, and her husband, George Sorokowskyj.

Per Daria' wishes, cremation rites are being accorded.

The family will receive friends for a memorial visitation at Reeves Funeral Home, 75 North Broadway Street, in Coal City on Saturday, August 8, 2026 from 11:00 a.m. until the time of memorial service at 2:00 p.m.
