David Friel

David A. Friel

Age 30 of Morris, passed away Saturday December 23, 2006.

Born April 19, 1976 in Morris, David is a son of Susan (Stephen) Starks of Morris and the late Michael Friel. He was raised and educated in Morris and graduated with the Morris Community High School Class of 1994. On October 21, 2000, David married Stephanie Breen in the Channahon Methodist Church and together they lived in Morris. David was a former Teamster with Local 179 and was currently working as a truck driver for Conley Excavating in Morris. He formerly managed DJ's Quick Lube in Morris and in his free time David enjoyed taking flying lessons at the Morris Airport, antique engines and tractors, snowmobiling and computers.

Survivors include his wife Stephanie; mother and step-father Susan and Stephen Starks and one brother Aaron Friel, all of Morris. Grandparents: Jerry and Gay Friel of Plattville; step-mother Pam (Craig) Barniville; two step-sisters: Faith Jaeger of Morris and Stephanie (Jay) McKenna of Lisbon; one step-brother Kelly Starks of California; three aunts: Cindy (Steve) Shannon and Christine (Doug) Click, both of Morris and Melissa (Dave) Smith of Plattville; three uncles: Mike (Joanne) Morrall and Tom Morrall, both of Morris and Mark (Lisa) Friel of Plattville. His mother-in-law and father-in-law: Harold and Carol Breen and Debbie and Dennis Gehrke, both of Morris and two sisters-in-law Stacy Gehrke and Melissa Gehrke, both of Morris, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

David was preceded in death by his father Michael Friel in 2001; grandparents Marilyn and Jack Morrall and one cousin Jonathon Click.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday December 26, 2006 between the hours of 4:00PM and 7:00PM at Reeves Funeral Home, 408 East Washington Street (two blocks East of Illinois Route 47) in Morris. Funeral services will follow on Wednesday December 27th at 10:30AM in Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Morris, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated with Rev. Richard Smith officiating.

Burial will be in Plattville Cemetery and pallbearers will be: Jake Lestina, John Maddox, Jr., Mark Conley, Scott Shannon, Kyle Morrall, Josh Click, Todd Waters and William Narwick.
