David C. Super

Age 51 of Coal City, formerly of Carbon Hill, passed away Friday, August 27, 2021 at his home.

Born April 21, 1970 in Joliet, David Charles is a son of Donna (nee Haldorson) Pacchetti and the late David E. Super. He was raised and educated in Coal City and graduated from Coal City High School with the Class of 1988. David attended Joliet Junior College and completed his Associate’s Degree in chemistry, and then received a Bachelor’s Degree in Physics and a Minor in Chemistry from University of Chicago. He started his career at Tristate Asphalt in Morris and then gained employment with INEOS Group in Naperville, where he worked for the past 19 years.

David enjoyed spending time outdoors, especially at the Coal City Area Club, where he would go fishing and fossil hunting. He had a multitude of interests, ranging from playing Magic: The Gathering and Dungeons and Dragons to coin collecting and making chainmail from scratch. David loved his family and spending as much time with them as possible. He was a devoted family man who leaves behind a beautiful legacy with his family and all of the friends he made over the years.

Survivors include his mother, Donna (Ed) Pacchetti of Carbon Hill, his wife, Renee Super of Coal City, whom he married June 24, 2000; one son, Connor Super of Coal City, four daughters: Jenna Super of Coal City, Lakin (David) Elliott of Carbon Hill, Caitlyn (Jeff) Peterson of Springfield, Missouri, and Ashley (Jeff) Schmotzer of Manlius, Illinois; seven grandchildren: Grayson and Carson Elliott, Colton Wrigley, and Willow Peterson, and Cayden and Zander Schmotzer; and two brothers: Shawn Super of Carbon Hill and Brian Super of Coal City.

David was preceded in death by his father, David Super, and his maternal and paternal grandparents.

Per David’s wishes, flameless cremation rites have been accorded.

The family will receive friends for a memorial visitation on Saturday, September 11, 2021 at Reeves Funeral Home, 75 North Broadway Street, in Coal City from 12:00 p.m. until the time of memorial service at 4:00 p.m.

In accordance with CDC guidelines, face masks will be required by attendees of the visitation and memorial service.

Those wishing to participate in David’s memorial service virtually are invited to watch the live stream on Saturday starting at 4:00 p.m. by logging onto his memorial page.

Inurnment will follow at a later date in Braceville Gardner Cemetery.
