Age 83 of Rancho Cucamonga, California, and a lifelong resident of Coal City, having recently moved to California, passed away Thursday August 24, 2006.

Born August 07, 1923 in Coal City, Dawn was a daughter of the late James and Margaret Marsaglia. She was raised and educated in Coal City and graduated from Coal City High School. Dawn married John Schimandle in Assumption Catholic Church in Coal City, where together they lived their entire married life. Dawn was a graduate of St. Joseph College of Nursing and worked as a registered nurse at both St. Joseph Hospital and the Joliet Arsenal. She was a member of Assumption Catholic Church in Coal City and in her free time, Dawn enjoyed to crochet.

Survivors include two sons: Jim Schimandle of Long Beach, California and John "Jack" (Cele) Schimandle of Coal City. Five grandchildren: Dawn (Alex) Semeczko of Alta Loma, California, Denise (Larry) Byrnes of Aurora, David (Beth) Schimandle of Denver, Colorado and Aaron (Jen) Schimandle and Jacqueline Schimandle, both of Coal City. Nine great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.

Dawn was preceded in death by her parents, husband John and daughter Christina.

Cremation rites have been accorded and a Memorial Mass will be held on Saturday September 09, 2006 at 11:30AM in Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 110 S. School Street @ Main Street (Illinois Route 113) in Braidwood.

Inurnment will follow in Mount Olivet Cemetery in Wilmington.
