Age 88 of Nettle Creek Township, Morris, Illinois, passed away peacefully Sunday, November 6, 2022 at her home.
 
Born March 10, 1934 in South Wilmington, Illinois, Delores Marie was a daughter of Attilio and Corlinda (Cornelli) Residori. She was raised in South Wilmington and graduated from Gardner South Wilmington High School with the Class of 1952. On August 1, 1953, Delores married Walter “Wally” Phillips in St. Lawrence Catholic Church in South Wilmington, and together they made a home, raised their family and farmed in Nettle Creek Township. Her early employment entailed working at the Joliet Arsenal and later she took on a position at Sponge Cushion and lastly Empress Casino until her retirement.

Delores was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Morris. She took pleasure in cooking and baking, as well as playing bingo and visiting the casino. Her greatest love however was being with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Survivors include her children: Kathy (Rod) Lambros and Walter Jr. (Patti) Phillips, both of Morris, Sandra (Kevin) Marsmaker of Manteno and Patrick (Darlene) Phillips of Morris; (10) grandchildren: Jacob Lambros of Morris, Katina (Benjamin) Samples of Osceola, Indiana, Jeremey (Kim) Phillips and Jonathan Phillips, both of Morris, Natalie Gregoire of Diamond, Nicholas (Kaytlyn) Gregoire of New Lenox, Matthew Marsmaker and Abigail Marsmaker, both of Manteno, and Jennifer (Jordon) Walker and Patrick (Trisha) Phillips, both of Morris; (19) great grandchildren: Tyse, Emma, Gage, Aubrey, Sydney, Howard, Ayla, Taylin, Kahmela, Patrick, Quaid, Whitney, Walter, Braydon, Payton, Amelia, Will, Reece and Josephine, and two sisters-in-law, Vivian (Rudy) Maierhofer of Seneca and Betty Phillips of Morris, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

Delores was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Wally on November 4, 1995, and siblings: Katy (Frank) Procenti, Ethel Residori (Fiancé Jimmy McGinnis), Zaro (Rosalie) Residori, Art (Anna Mae) Residori, Louis (Lillian) Residori and Esther (Wayne) Sorensen.

The family will receive friends for a visitation at Reeves Funeral Home, 408 East Washington Street (one block east of Illinois Route 47) in Morris on Tuesday, November 8, 2022 between the hours of 4:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m.

Funeral services will follow on Wednesday morning, November 9, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. in Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 600 East Jackson Street in Morris. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated with Reverend Jason Stone presiding.

At Dolores’ request, those attending the visitation and services are encouraged to dress casual, and in comfortable attire.

Burial will be in Mount Carmel Cemetery in Morris, where Delores will be laid to rest with her late husband, Wally. Pallbearers will be: Jacob Lambros, Jeremey Phillips, Jonathan Phillips, Patrick Phillips, Nicholas Gregoire and Jennifer Walker. Matthew Marsmaker will be an honorary pallbearer.

Preferred memorials may be made as gifts in Delores’ memory to Lightways Hospice, 250 Water Stone Circle, Joliet, Illinois 60431.
