Age 66, of Wilmington, Illinois died unexpectedly on February 5, 2026 at her home.

Born on March 13, 1959 in Joliet, Illinois, Denise was a daughter of Martin Keith and Ethel Marie (Brockett) Senior. Denise was raised and educated in Wilmington and proudly graduated from Wilmington High School with the Class of 1977. On May 8, 1982, she married the love of her life, Glenn Farmer, at the Island City Baptist Church, and together they began a life deeply rooted in love, family, and community.

Denise dedicated her working years to serving others. She worked as a clerk at Whitmore’s ACE Hardware for five years, followed by five years at Personal Products, before beginning a career with the Wilmington School District, where she proudly served for over 20 years. Her commitment, warmth, and care left a lasting impression on countless students, families, and coworkers.

Denise was a proud, dedicated member of the Wilmington Catbackers Football Club. She was the biggest Wilmington Bobcat and Wildcat football fan, cheering faithfully from the stands. Beyond local sports, she also loved her Chicago Bears. In her quieter moments, Denise found joy in bird watching, gardening her flowers and plants, and walking her beloved dog.

Denise adored her children and grandchildren and never missed a single sporting event, cheering faithfully on the sidelines, while capturing every moment on camera. Known for her infectious smile and family-oriented spirit, Denise was fierce yet caring, thoughtful, humble, and endlessly giving. She was a caretaker to all, truly “everyone’s nana” and the glue that held her family together. No one ever left Nana’s house hungry, and no one ever left without feeling loved.

She is survived by her husband, Glenn Farmer; children: Brandon (Stephanie) Bailey of Coal City, Illinois, Brett (Patricia) Farmer, of Wilmington, Tyler (Dakota) Farmer of Wilmington; grandchildren: Colton and Grayson Bailey, Adeline, Owen, Gavin, and Mason Farmer, Barrett, Bennett, and Bode Farmer; brothers and sister; Steve (Brenda) Senior, Kevin (Lori) Senior, Martin (Laura) Senior, and Melanie (Mike) Noramczyk; brother in-law, Dave (Donna) Farmer; special nieces and nephews: Nichole (Frank) Cavanaugh and Jake (Silvia) Steffes; numerous other nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews; lifelong friends, Debbie, Cindy, and many others; and her furry companion, Patches.

Denise was preceded in death by her parents, Martin and Ethel; in-laws: Jim and Joan Farmer; furry friends: Rocks and Jessie.

Memorials may be made as gift's in Denise's name to the Wilmington Catbackers Football Club.

The family will receive friends for a visitation on Thursday, February 12, 2026 at Baskerville Funeral Home (700 East Kahler Road) from 3:00 p.m. until the time of service at 6:00 p.m.

Cremation rites will be accorded following the services.
