Dennis P. Klepk

“Denny”

Age 77 of Coal City and Formerly of Wilmington, passed away peacefully Saturday evening, April 7, 2018 at his home surrounded by family.

Born August 12, 1940 in Kankakee, Illinois, Dennis Paul was a son of Paul Roman and Rhetta L. (Ragain) Klepk. He was raised in Wilmington, graduated from Wilmington High School with the Class of 1958 and went on to marry Joyce D. Underwood in Wilmington on January 14, 1961.

He was a man of strong faith, who over the years attended both West Side Baptist Church in Mt. Vernon, which he assisted in building, as well as Custer Park Baptist Church. He shared his time, talents and faith playing the guitar, serving as church music director and also teaching Sunday school.

Denny was a multi-talented guy who built his own wood working shop, as well as enjoyed building and working on tractors. He was a draftsman that was proud to have been able to design and build several homes, and in his free time, Denny took pleasure in fishing and golfing.

Throughout his rich and rewarding life, Denny Klepk was a hardworking man who loved God, loved his family, and who would extend a helping hand without hesitation and became an inspiration to those around him. Denny relied upon his strong relationship in Jesus Christ, and it was his faith in Him that was the compass he used to direct his steps. Denny was dedicated to his family, and it was this devotion that was the driving force behind all his hard work. He took great pride in everything he did, and he earned everything he had in life. Denny leaves behind a timeless collection of memories that his loved ones will forever cherish.
