Diana G. Dunn

Age 81 of Joliet, Illinois, formerly of Indiana, died Thursday, January 18, 2024 at Ascension St. Joseph Medical Center in Joliet.

Born October 26, 1942 in Gary, Indiana, Diana Gertrude was the daughter of Courtney and Gertrude (Leufken) Dunn. She was raised and educated in Gary, graduated from Lew Wallace High School with the Class of 1960, and attended Indiana University in Bloomington. Diana worked for United Life Insurance Company before beginning a career in the real estate industry. She worked for Biggs Realty Co. as a secretary before gaining employment with the Hampton Indiana Highland Apartment Complex as a leasing agent, where she would work for 10 years until she retired. Diana liked to keep busy, often by working on crafts or reading a good book, and in her younger years she would travel quite often. She also enjoyed cooking and loved her pet cats, but her greatest joy and time spent was with her extended family with whom she shared many strong relationships, and looked forward to any family gatherings.

Diana is survived by many cousins, including Norma (the late Bill) Kuriger of Coal City, Illinois, and she was preceded in death by her parents, Courtney and Gertrude; and two step-brothers: Brian Oliver Dunn and Gerald Courtney Dunn.

The family will receive friends for a visitation at Reeves Funeral Home, 75 North Broadway Street (one block north of Illinois Route 113), in Coal City on Thursday, January 25, 2024 from 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Funeral services will follow at Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church, 215 South Kankakee Street, in Coal City at 11:00 a.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Reverend Joshua Miller. 

Private interment will be at Calumet Park Cemetery in Merrillville, Indiana.
