Age 68 of Gardner, passed away Saturday September 9, 2006 at the Joliet Area Community Hospice Home in Joliet.

Born April 22, 1938 in Morris, Diane was a daughter of the late Erlan and Hilda (Treasure) Cobb. She was raised and educated in Gardner and graduated from Gardner a�" South Wilmington High School with the Class of 1956. On November 21, 1959 Diane married Louis Lyle in Gardner, where they lived most of their married life. Diane was employed by Provena Saint Joseph Medical Center in Joliet as a medical Transcriptionist for more than 15 years until her retirement. In her free time she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and she could be seen on the sidelines of many baseball, soccer and football games.

Survivors include one son Todd (Laura) Lyle of Morris; one daughter Dena (Todd) Knutson of Braidwood; four grandchildren: John Lyle and Joseph Lyle, both of Morris and Joseph Knutson and Anthony Knutson, both of Braidwood. One sister Doreen (Jerry) Ray of Seneca and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Diane was preceded in death by her parents, husband Louis in 1988, one daughter in infancy and two sisters: Darlene Hahn and Donna "Betsy" Hahn.

Cremation rites have been accorded and a memorial service will be held on Wednesday September 13, 2006 at 11:00AM in the Coal City United Methodist Church, 6805 East McArdle Road in Coal City. Dr. Thomas Logsdon will officiate and a luncheon will immediately follow services in the Church.

Private family inurnment will be in Braceville-Gardner Cemetery.
