Diane Swearingen

Diane C. Swearingen

Age 77 of Keller, Texas and formerly of Burbank and Harvard, Illinois, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday morning, September 16, 2018.

Born September 6, 1941 in Chicago, Illinois, Diane Carol was a daughter of William Ward and Frances Violet (Tuschen) Dole. She was raised and educated in Burbank, Illinois, and at the tender age of 16, Diane married Gordon Swearingen in Chicago. Together Diane and Gordon raised five children and watched their family blossom over the past 60 years. She was a member of Indian Creek Ranch in Morris and actively participated in the P.T.A.

Diane’s most recent employment, which she dearly loved, was working for SEDOM (the Special Education District of McHenry County) in Woodstock, Illinois. It was here that she worked with the special education programs and other needed services for children with disabilities until her retirement and relocation to Texas.

One who loved the outdoors, whether it be visiting the ocean, camping or watching for cardinals, of which she extensively collected, Diane also enjoyed the holidays and took pride in decorating for the seasons. Other interests included NASCAR and playing pinochle, but none was greater and dearer to her heart than spending time with her family, and especially her grandchildren.

Survivors include her loving husband of 60 years, Gordon; five children: Ronald (Janis) Swearingen of Coal City, Wesley Swearingen of Flint, Michigan, Scott Swearingen of Woodstock, Illinois, Donna (Gus) Ruiz of Ft. Worth, Texas and Brenton Swearingen of Keller, Texas; (11) grandchildren: Shane Capsack, Sarah (Junior) Aguirre, Jerry (Tammy) Danzinger, Kirk Danzinger, Ronnie (Jessica) Swearingen, Frank (Casey) Swearingen, Brian Swearingen, Gloria Swearingen, Melissa Robinson, Jessica Brown (Pvt. Shawn Brown, US Army - Afghanistan) and Samantha Ruiz; (8) great grandchildren: Lilliana Aguirre, Abraham Aguirre, Cameron Swearingen, Vivian Swearingen, Nate Danzinger, Nevaeh Danzinger, Faith Danzinger and Noah Danzinger; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Julie Dole of Tinley Park, Loren (Judy) Swearingen of Greensboro, North Carolina and Paul (the late Lolita) Swearingen of Orland Park, Illinois, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Diane was preceded in death by her parents; one grandson Andrew Ruiz; one brother, Ronald Dole and brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Gary (Diane) Swearingen and Wayne (Maurice) Swearingen,
