Bernardo (Dino) Dominic Leonardo

Age 52 of Lockport, Illinois, passed away Wednesday, June 14, 2023 in his home.

 Born November 24, 1970, Dino was a son of the late Phillip and Cheryl Leonardo. He grew up in Lockport, and was known for his grand carpentry skills and his pride of being Italian. Dino was a one of a kind man, who enjoyed fishing, music, and his witty dad jokes and sayings. He was an active and beloved member of First Baptist Church in Lockport, and was always willing to help someone in times of need whether it was a loved one or a complete stranger. Dino was extremely charismatic and would get along with everybody and make friends anywhere he went. If you knew him- you knew that only thing bigger than his charm was the size of his heart. He loved animals his whole life and will be greeted by many of them at the rainbow bridge. As Dino would say, "that's a wrap jack!”

Dino is survived by his beloved daughter, Shelby Leonardo, two step children: Jacob Snyder and Jordan Joplin; his sister Tina Leonardo, and he was a dear uncle to his nephews, Anthony Scaglione and Philly Leonardo, and his niece, Brooke Leonardo.

Dino was preceded in death by his parents, Phillip and Cheryl Leonardo, and his brother, Philly Leonardo.

A celebration of Dino’s life will be held on Thursday, July 6, 2023 at First Baptist Church, 800 Thornton Street, in Lockport from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., with a memorial service at 4:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Dino’s memory may be made as gifts to the family to go towards funeral expenses.
