Age 86 of Wilmington, passed away Monday October 23, 2006 at Provena St. Joseph Medical Center in Joliet.

Born July 19, 1920 in Grand Rapids, Michigan, Dona was a daughter of the late Peter and Anna (Kuhn) Noel. She was a graduate of St. Joseph School of Nursing (1941) and on December 8, 1945 Dona married Edward Koenig, Sr. in Chicago. Together Dona and Ed owned and operated Ed's Dairy Bar in Wilmington for many years. Dona was a dedicated member of St. Rose Catholic Church in Wilmington , where she was a former parish council member, avid bowler, card player and traveler. Dona loved crossword puzzles and the "Game Night Club" with her daughters and friends. She always made the "best" out of any situation and Dona had a great influence on the residents and staff at Embassy Care Center in Wilmington, which resulted in positive impact on many lives.

Survived by her loving family: one son Edward, Jr. (Connie) Koenig of Braidwood; four daughters: Karen (Jim) Hazzard, Christine (Gene) Warriner and Barbara (Nial) Osburn, all of Wilmington and Annette (Tad) Tyler of Elwood. Ten grandchildren: Jim, Mark, Laura, Dona, Mike, Nikki, Sarah, Edward III, Matt and Madelyn; five great grandchildren: Alicia, Tarissa, Anthony, Cody and Porter; one sister Linnea (Richard) Blechschmidt of Florida and one brother Peter Noel of Michigan .

Dona was preceded in death by her parents, husband Edward, Sr. (1993), infant daughter Susan, one great grandson Tyler; three brothers John, James and Frank and three sisters: Madelyn, Elizabeth and Justine.

The family will receive friends on Thursday October 26, 2006 between the hours of 4:00PM and 8:00PM at Reeves Funeral Home, 219 North Joliet Street (two blocks North of Illinois Route 53 / Baltimore Street ) in Wilmington. Funeral services will follow on Friday October 27th at 9:30 from the funeral home, processing to Saint Rose Catholic Church in Wilmington , where a Mass of Christina Burial will be celebrated at 10:00AM. Rev. Steve Bondi and Deacon Donald Dyer will officiate and interment will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery in Wilmington. A funeral luncheon in St. Rose School Hall will then immediately follow graveside services.
