Donald Small

DONALD A. SMALL

Age 83 of Mazon passed away Thursday December 1, 2005 at Provena Saint Joseph Medical Center in Joliet.

Born September 11, 1922 in Verona, Donald was a son of the late Earl and Nellie (Trimmer) Small. He attended school in Verona and Mazon, and on June 29, 1941 Donald married Margery A. Overly. Together they lived and farmed in the Verona area for 64 years and Donald also worked construction during that time. After retirement Donald and Margery moved to Mazon and they spent their winters in Florida. Donald was a member of the Masonic Lodge for over 47 years in the Verona and Mazon Lodge. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, but most of all reminiscing with family and friends.

Survivors include his wife of 64 years Margery; a daughter and son-in-law: Judith Ann and Douglas Nelson; three grandchildren: Doug (Jacque) Nelson of Chicago, Daniel (Kathy) Nelson of Coal City and Wendy (Rob) Sherman of Goose Lake and four great grandchildren: Ryan Nelson, Daniel Nelson, Sydney Sherman and Madyson Sherman.

Donald was preceded in death by his parents, one brother Eugene and one nephew Wayne Small.

Cremation rites are being accorded, per Donald's wishes and a private graveside service will follow at a later date.

Funeral arrangements have been made under the direction of Reeves Funeral Homes, Ltd. in Morris.
