Donna Gordon

Age 71 of Coal City, passed away Tuesday, January 26, 2021 at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago.

Born October 2, 1949 in Kankakee, Donna Kay was a daughter of Donald Joseph and Delores Irene (Bertino) Vacca. She was raised and educated in Coal City and graduated from Coal City High School with the Class of 1967. Donna worked at First National Bank of Joliet for many years as a secretary. She then worked as a clerk at the Exelon Production Training Center, in addition to working at Don’s Beer Store in Coal City.

Donna was a member of Assumption Catholic Church in Coal City, and loved to travel all over the county and internationally. She enjoyed playing card games and dominoes, and loved her cats and cat memorabilia. Most of all, Donna loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

Survivors include her son, Dave (Melissa) Hahn of Minooka, two granddaughters: Miranda Hahn and Gianna Hahn; one grandson, Dominic Hahn, and her aunt, Jessie (the late Joseph H.) Kasher of Coal City, as well as numerous cousins and friends, including William Gordon of Coal City.

Donna was preceded in death by her parents, as well as her brother and sister: John Vacca and Carla Vacca.

Cremation rites have been accorded, and the family will receive friends for a COVID observant visitation on Friday, February 5, 2021, from 10:00 a.m. until the time of memorial service 12:00 p.m., at Reeves Funeral Home, 75 North Broadway Street (one block north of Illinois Route 113) in Coal City. Rev. Brad Shumaker from the Coal City United Methodist Church will officiate.

Those wishing to participate in the services virtually, are welcome to join the live-streamed services beginning at 12:00 p.m. on Friday, February 5, 2021. A link will be made available on Donna's memorial page.
