Age 80 of Wilmington, passed away Sunday, April 5, 2020 at her home.

Born December 28, 1939 in Joliet, Illinois, Donna Rae was the daughter of Stanley B. and Frances Louise (Parkinson) Roou. She was raised in Wilmington and graduated from Wilmington High School with the Class of 1958. On May 20, 1961, Donna married Nicholas C. “Bud” Lombardi in St. Rose Catholic Church in Wilmington, and together they made their home and raised their family in Wilmington.

Donna worked at Commonwealth Edison in Joliet before staying home to raise her family. She was also involved with the family business, Lombardi Chevy Buick, as well as managed the family holdings. She was a lifelong member of St. Rose Catholic Church, where she served as president of St. Rose School Board and the PTO. Donna enjoyed remaining active in the Wilmington community, was past president of the Junior Women’s Club, and served for Wilmington Township. In addition, she and Bud belonged to the Area #1 Club. Donna’s greatest hobby was her family, and she cherished every opportunity to be with her grandchildren and follow them in their activities.

Survivors include her husband of 58 years, Nicholas “Bud”; daughter Sue Probus and son and daughter-in-law, James and Jodi Lombardi, all of Wilmington; grandchildren: Nicholas Lombardi of Galesburg, Illinois and Benjamin Probus, Chloe Lombardi, Samuel Probus, Matteo Lombardi and Joseph Probus, all of Wilmington, and one brother, Larry Roou of Milwaukee.

Donna was preceded in death by her parents, as well as her son-in-law, Charlie Probus, Jr.

There will be a private family Mass of Christian Burial at St. Rose Catholic Church in Wilmington with Reverend Sebastian Gargol presiding.

Burial will be in Mount Olivet Catholic Cemetery in Wilmington with Donna’s grandchildren acting as pallbearers.

Preferred memorials may be made as gifts in Donna’s memory to Kuzma Care Cottage, 635 S. Main Street, Wilmington, Illinois 60481.
