Donna Jean Orolin

Age 78 of Braceville, Illinois died Tuesday, May 24, 2022 at Morris Hospital.

Born November 1, 1943 in Coal City, Illinois, Donna Jean was a daughter of Steve and Frances Lydia (Vodacek) Orolin. She was a graduate of Gardner South-Wilmington High School and was a member of Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Roman Catholic Church in Coal City. Donna worked for AkzoNobel for 26 years as a Custodian Engineer, and in her free time took pleasure in ceramics, sewing, quilting, baking, and watching T.V. Donna enjoyed dining out and spending time with her puppy Lucy. Donna will be remembered as a great Chicago Cubs fan.

Survivors include her sisters: Anna Marie Orolin and Sandra Lee Orolin, of Braceville; sister-in-law Charlene Orolin of Morris; nephew Edward, Jr. (Pam) Orolin; several cousins, and her dear friends who are like family, the girls at the Whistle Stop Diner in Diamond.

Donna was preceded in death by her parents; one brother Edward Orolin, Sr . and her sister, Karen Lynn Orolin.

The family will receive friends for a visitation at Reeves Funeral Home, 75 North Broadway (one block north of Illinois Route 113) in Coal City on Saturday, May 28, 2022 from 9:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. Funeral services will follow in Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Roman Catholic Church in Coal City at 10:30 a.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated with Reverend Joshua Miller presiding and assisted by Deacon William Dunn. Burial will be in Braceville-Gardner Cemetery, where Donna will be laid to rest with her parents and sister.

Preferred memorials may be made as gifts in Donna’s memory to her family for their distribution.
