Age 72 of Coal City, formerly of Indianola and Des Moines, IA died Tuesday April 26, 2022 at Aperion Care in Wilmington, Illinois.

Born February 17, 1950 in Indianola, Iowa, Donna was the daughter of Lloyd and Maxine (Bumgarner) Weeks.  She was raised and educated in Indianola and Des Moines, IA and graduated high school in 1968.

In life Donna was an office manager for several companies including a real estate agency and T.J. Lambrecht construction as well as working as a sales representative for Mary Kay Cosmetics.  She also worked as a bartender at Denny Arthur's in Urbandale, IA during the evenings and taught country line dancing.   Donna was an avid reader and enjoyed sunbathing by the pool with a drink and a good book.  She loved outdoor activities in the sunshine including Jeep rides and pontooning.  She loved country music, line dancing and had the most contagious laugh.  Donna was a member of the Methodist church. 

Survivors include two children: Shaun Reetz of Des Moines, IA, and James (significant other Shanon Matuszewski) of Coal City; one grandchild: Kora Reetz of Coal City;  nieces and nephew: Ginger Weeks, Ryan Weeks, Lacie Sibley, Shelby Weeks Hohneke; as well as several cousins.

Donna was preceded in death by her parents and one brother.

Per Donna’s wishes, cremation rites are being accorded and a celebration of life will be held in the fall in Iowa. 

Preferred memorials may be made as gifts in Donna’s memory to the family.
