COAL CITY a�" Mrs. Willis L. (Dorothy M.) Tarman, 99, of Coal City, died Friday, April 29 at the Grundy County Nursing Home.

A memorial service will be held at United Methodist Church in Coal City Saturday, May 21. Graveside services will follow at Braceville-Gardner Cemetery.

Born May 17, 1905 in Coal City, she was a daughter of Alan and Emma (Wilenou) Spellman. Dorothy's ancestors came from Germany and settled on property which is now part of the Coal City Area Club and the Short Cemetery.

Survivors include children: Wilma Davy, Richard (Lynne) Tarman, daughter-in-law Ann Tarman, Faye (Melvin) Dearth--all of Coal City, and Betty (Bill) Minck of Lebanon, Ohio; nieces: Shirley (Frank) Marsaglia, Beverly (Emil) Micono, Mary Alice Bademian; nephews: Bernard Ravnaas and Robert McInnes; 18 grandchildren: Neil (Penni) Davy, Carol (Bill) Narwick, Nancy (Ted) Lihou, Paul (Myra) Davy, Mary Beth (Chris) Anderson; Larry (Sue) Tarman, Bobby (Gail) Tarman, Laura (Tony) Esparza; Billy (Tina) Tarman; Willis (Julie) Tarman, Pat (Bonnie) Tarman, Mark (Heidi) Tarman, Mary Beth (Jeff) Davis; Tim (Pam) Dearth; Jennifer (Ed) Rexius, David Minck, Wendy (Tony) Solino , Amy (Marshall) Lachman; 39 great-grandchildren: Sherry Onsen, Scott (Char) Onsen; Bryana Lihou; Brent (Kristina) Davy, Kristi Davy; Justin and Colin Anderson; Matt Tarman, Aimee (Todd) Severns, Luke Tarman; Lisa and Bobby Tarman; Amy Esparza, Tony (Robin) Esparza, Sandy and Alex Esparza; Billy, Tara and Chris Tarman; Heather, Christy, Sarah, Mathew, Tricia and Nick Tarman; Joshua Tarman; Alison, Laura and Megan Dearth; Sarah, Megan and Michael Rexius; Vanessa and Erika Vest, Alec and Emily Solino; Abigail, Joshua and Mathew Lachman and six great-great-grandchildren: Wyatt and Dylan Onsen; Ella Davy; Kristopher, Justin and Aliyah Esparza.

She was the oldest member of the Coal City United Methodist Church and joined in 1915. Raised and educated in Coal City, she graduated with the Class of 1922.

Preceding her in death were her husband; one son, Robert C. Tarman; son-in-law, Elvin Davy; brothers Charles and Henry Spellman; sisters Elizabeth Carpenter, Sarah Ella Wilson, Beatrice Ravnaas, Alice Spellman and Ione McInnes.

Preferred memorials may be directed to the Coal City United Methodist Church Building Fund or the Grundy County Nursing Home Activity Fund.
