Edith Eibler Drobek
Age 100 of Wilmington, Illinois, died Friday, September 11, 2026 at her home.
Born December 29, 1925 in Vienna, Austria, Edith was a daughter of Joseph and Anne (Wagner) Arnold. She was raised in Austria and attended business college to become an accountant. Edith later came to the United States and settled in Chicago, Illinois where she worked for many years and raised her son. She later relocated to Wilmington where she was a member of Saint Rose Catholic Church. Edith spent much of her free time travelling, particularly with the travel groups sponsored by the Godley Park District; notably several trips to Branson, Missouri being her favorite. Edith had a gift for crafting, especially at Christmas time when she would make special Christmas ornaments. She enjoyed crochet and painting, but will be most remembered for her generosity and kind heart.
Edith is survived by her son, Fritz (Mary Jo) Eibler, and grandson, Joseph Eibler, all of Chicago. She was preceded in death by her parents and long time husband and companion, Dan Drobek.
Cremation rites are being accorded and Edith will be laid to rest in San Pierre, Indiana.
