Elaine Walker

Age 71 of Coal City, IL, received her full restoration healing on Tuesday, August 23, 2022 after a fierce and epic battle with multiple medical issues.  Her family and friends surrounded her as she entered the arms of Jesus.

Born to Wayne and Vivian Mansfield in Highland, IL on June 1, 1951.  She spent her childhood in downstate Illinois in a small farm town called Edwardsville.  In her teen years, her family lived in Plainfield, IL where she attended the local high school.  One of her favorite activities was singing in the choir at the 1st Church of the Nazarene in Joliet, IL where she attended regularly as a teenager.

Elaine spent most of her working years in the manufacturing industry.  She worked very hard to provide a great life for her family.  She worked at General Motors in Willow Springs, Borg Warner in Frankfort, and Personal Products in Wilmington.  Elaine also had a dream to go back to school and earn a college degree.  She realized her dream in 1997 with an Associates in Business degree.

Elaine’s family is so very important to her.  It is second only to her love for God and her lifelong desire to tell people about God and HIs love for them.  Elaine had many difficult medical issues, but through all of those trials her faith won over her fears.

She is survived by her husband Robert (Bob) Walker; (6) children: Waynette Carter of Coal City, Raquel Carter (John) Andrist of Dwight, Kristin (Derek) Brais of Coal City, Jodie (Matt) Reilly of New Castle, DE, Scott Walker of Georgetown, DE and a very special gift from God, Promise Walker; (7) grandchildren: Miranda (Nathan and his daughter Emma Nading) Carter, Megan (Joe Hoffman) Andrist, Nick (Tess) Andrist, Gunnar Moody, Addison Brais, Blake Reilly, and Kendall Reilly; her great grandson that made her smile every time she saw him, Asher Gabriel; one son-of-her-heart, Will Moody; special friends and co-parents, Sam and Mary Carter; brother, Steve (Carmen) Mansfield of Riverside, CA; one sister, Anita Pollack of Dwight; nieces, nephews, and many extended family members.

Elaine is preceded in death by her parents and a very special woman who she loved like a mother, Lena Thompson.
