Age 76 of Wilmington, Illinois, passed away Sunday, June 30, 2024 at Ascension St. Joseph Medical Center in Joliet, Illinois.
Born September 20, 1947 in Springfield, Tennessee, Felicia Lane was a daughter of William Moore and Hilda Marie (Hayes) Nunley. She was raised in Wilmington and graduated from Wilmington High School with the Class of 1965. On February 14, 1976, Felicia married John Thomas Alberico, and Tom preceded her in death in 2004.
Felicia dedicated her career to public service, working as a project manager first with the Corps of Engineers and later with the Department of Energy. More recently, she found joy and fulfillment working in the Rectory at St. Rose Catholic Church in Wilmington, where she was a member of the parish.
In her leisure time, Felicia found peace and happiness in the outdoors, particularly through gardening and landscaping. She loved taking walks, indulging in shopping excursions, and cherished her winter retreats in Florida. Music was a constant source of joy in her life, reflecting her vibrant spirit and enjoyment of social gatherings. Those who knew her remember her fondly for her warmth, humor, and zest for life.
Above all, Felicia cherished her family and relished moments spent with her nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
Survivors include her siblings: Faye (the late Rayburn) Frey of Tennessee, Patricia (Ken) Wise of Wilmington and Leslie (Sandra) Nunley of Tennessee; one sister-in-law, Lindy Nunley of Wilmington and numerous nieces and nephews.
Felicia was preceded in death by her parents; husband Tom; one brother, William Robert Nunley and two nephews: Justin Hannum and Jason Alberico.
The family will receive friends for a visitation at Baskerville Funeral Home, 700 E. Kahler Road in Wilmington on Saturday, July 6, 2024 from 9:30 a.m. until time of funeral service 11:00 a.m. Pastor Harriette Cross will officiate, and burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery, Wilmington where Felicia will be laid to rest with her late husband, Tom.
Preferred memorials in lieu of flowers may be made as gifts in Felicia’s memory to the American Lung Association or to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
