"Dick"

Age 83 of Joliet and formerly Wilmington, passed away Wednesday August 30, 2006 at Provena St. Joseph Medical Center in Joliet.

Born September 30, 1922 in Kaukauna, Wisconsin, Dick was a son of the late Herman and Irene (Welter) Ebben. He was retired from Caterpillar Tractor Corp. Dick served in the US Army Aircorp and was a veteran of WWII. He was a member of St. Rose Catholic Church in Wilmington, where he was an usher, Caterpillar Retirees Club and the Machinists Retiree Club.

Survivors include his loving wife of 59 years: Mary (nee McGovern); one son Richard (Joyce) Ebben of Joliet; two daughters: Maureen Ruguone of Lancaster, California and Susanne (Craig) Cole of Tucson, Arizona. Nine grandchildren: Wendy (Manuel) Castillo, Matthew (Mai) Ebben, Joshua Ruguone, Nicholas Ruguone, Bree (Craig) Wiegel, Stacy (Dave) Burden, Jason (Jackie) Cole, Stephanie Cole and Ragan Cole. Three step-granddaughters, numerous great grandchildren and one sister Sylvia (the late Ray) Stocker of Joliet, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Dick was preceded in death by his parents, one brother Orville and one sister Rita Kliglach.

Visitation will be held on Saturday September 02, 2006 from 9:00AM until 9:45AM at Reeves Funeral Home, 219 North Joliet Street (two blocks North of Illinois Route 53 / Baltimore Street) in Wilmington. Funeral services will follow at 10:00AM in Saint Rose Catholic Church in Wilmington, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated with Rev. Steve Bondi and Deacon Donald Dyer officiating. Burial will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery in Wilmington.
