Frances Brown

Frances Constance Brown

Age 94, formerly of California and Wilmington, passed away at Provena Villa Franciscan in Joliet.

Born January 28, 1912 in Chicago, Frances was a daughter of the late Anthony and Antonina (Lomenza) Pogliaro. She was employed by Material Services in downtown Chicago for 28 years, prior to moving to California where she assumed a position with Bank of America. After retiring, Frances then moved back to Illinois in 2000 where she resided with her niece Joanne and Nick Portegys. In life Frances loved to sew, having made most of her work clothing and dancing gowns. Dancing was her passion and memories of the Aragon and Treeonon Ballrooms put a smile on her face. May she dance with Jesus as she greets her beloved family in heaven.

Survivors include two brothers Anthony Pogliaro of Arizona and John Pogliaro of California and many nieces and nephews, including special niece Joanne (Nicholas) Portegys of Wilmington.

Frances was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers: Carmen, James and Sam and three sisters: Carmella, Josephine and Mary.

The family will receive friends on Saturday September 23, 2006 from 11:00AM until time of funeral Mass 11:30AM at Reeves Funeral Home, 219 North Joliet Street (two blocks North of Illinois Route 53 / Baltimore Street) in Wilmington.
