Age 75 of Minooka, Illinois, formerly of Oak Forest, Illinois, died Tuesday, December 31, 2024 at Ascension St. Joseph Medical Center in Joliet, Illinois.
Born March 3, 1949 in Blue Island, Illinois, Frank was a son of Bernice (Zelinski) Biel. He was raised in Blue Island and Mt. Greenwood, Illinois where he graduated from Chicago Vocational High School. Frank served honorably in the United States Army and worked as a welding inspector for many years, travelling across the country inspecting pipefittings at nuclear generation stations. He was well respected in his profession and shared his expertise as a part time instructor at Moraine Valley Community College in Palos Hills, Illinois.
Frank took great pleasure in being outdoors. He was a great fisherman and he especially enjoyed annual trips to Canada, particularly for the canoe trips across the Canadian Boundary Waters. He had a loveable persona whose dry sense of humor made a memorable impression. Frank was a true dog whisperer, garnering attention from any and all dogs who crossed his path. His calm disposition was a defining characteristic of his, never letting his emotions get the best of him, and used his easy intelligence and logical nature to be his guide through life.
Survivors include his wife, Nancy Biel of Minooka, Illinois; two sons: Kristopher Biel (Alexandria Forsythe) of Oak Forest, Illinois and Kevin (Jennifer) Biel of Hoffman Estates, Illinois; three daughters: Raeann Renteria of Minooka, Tammy (Robert) Head of Downers Grove, Illinois, and Nikki (Nick) Schiro of Channahon, Illinois; seven grandchildren: Julian and Arianna Renteria, Seth, Ethan, and Mya Schiro, and Ella and Allie Biel; one brother, John (Sue) Biel of Indianapolis, Indiana, and many extended family members.
Frank was preceded in death by his mother, Bernice Biel and her companion George "Corky" White.
