Age 55 of Wilmington, passed away Tuesday September 12, 2006 at his home.

Born August 17, 1951 in Blue Island, Illinois, Fred was a son of the late Fredric and Adele (Milius) Eskridge. He was a graduate of the University of Illinois in Chicago and was employed as an Insurance Agent for Chicago Motor Club. He was a Wilmington Park District Board Member, former commissioner of the Wilmington Pony League and a member of the Teamsters Local. Fred was an avid golfer and loved baseball.

Survivors include his loving wife Kathleen (Gronkowski); two sons: Ian Eskridge and Evan Eskridge, both of Plainfield; two brothers: William (Donna) Eskridge of South Carolina and Robert (Jean Sousa) Eskridge of Chicago; two nephews: Jeff (Carol) Eskridge and Michael (Cindy) Creighton; his father-in-law Robert Gronkowski, one sister-in-law Karen Creighton and several great nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Friday September 15, 2006 between the hours of 5:00PM and 8:00PM and Saturday September 16th from 9:00AM until time of funeral services 10:00AM at Reeves Funeral Home, 219 North Joliet Street (two blocks North of Illinois Route 53 / Baltimore Street) in Wilmington. Rev. Steve Bondi and Deacon Donald Dyer will officiate and a private family interment will follow.
