GARALD LYNN "BILL" EVANS

Age 68 of Odell and formerly Morris, passed away Saturday morning June 11, 2005 at OSF Saint Joseph Medical Center in Bloomington.

Born June 08, 1937 in Fraziers Bottom, West Virginia, Bill was a son of Fannie Evans. Bill moved to Morris with his family at the age of 6 and was educated in Morris. After High School he entered into the service and served with the US Marines. On June 27, 1958 Bill married Linda Turner in the Methodist Church in Morris, and she preceded him in death on June 19, 2001.

Bill worked as a heavy equipment operator his entire life, having been employed with Douglas Equipment, Keny Construction and O'Brien Construction. He was a member of Local #150 Operating Engineers, was a proud Mason and belonged to the Harley Owners Group (H.O.G.). Bill enjoyed working outside, riding his bike, playing poker and his dogs.

Survivors include: one daughter Teri Lynn (Terry) Helms of Dwight; one brother Chester Pyatt of Florida; two granddaughters: Tracey Lynn (Mike) Lee of Dwight and Jessica Lynn (Andy) Evans of Grand Ridge; Five great grandchildren: Cody Lynn Lee, Dylan Thomas Lee and Evan Michael Lee of Dwight and Jasmine Andrea Evans and Jessica Anne Evans of Streator. His very dear and close friend Jane Cashmere of Odell and several cousins and friends.

Bill was preceded in death by his mother and wife.

Visitation and Video Tribute will be held on Wednesday June 15, 2005 from 5:00PM until 8:00PM at Reeves Funeral Home, 408 East Washington Street a�" (one block East of Illinois Route 47), in Morris. Funeral services will follow on Thursday June 16, 2005 at 10:00AM in the funeral home with Rev. Stephen Lauricella officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery in Morris.
