GEORGE R. BRANCATO

Age 82 of Morris, passed away Wednesday Evening October 12, 2005 at the Grundy County Home.

Born September 27, 1923 in Coal City, George was a son of the late Nick and Edith (Gervase) Brancato. He was raised and educated in Coal City and graduated with the Coal City High School Class of 1941. George was a veteran of the US Army, having served in the Asian-Pacific Theater of Operations during World War II. On August 24, 1946 George married Ruth Hansen in Assumption Catholic Church in Coal City, and together they lived most of their married life in Morris. George worked as a printer for the Morris Federal Paper Board Company until his retirement in 1979 and he was a member of the Morris V.F.W. George enjoyed collecting Coins.

Survivors include his daughter Linda (Eric) Jensen of Morris; two granddaughters: Erica Jensen and Brooke Jensen, both of Morris and two sisters: Margaret (Ed) Viglia of Coal City and Edith (Bill) Kinsella of Wilmington, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

George was preceded in death by his parents, wife Ruth in 2001, one sister Sarah Brancato and one brother Sam Brancato.

Visitation and video tribute will be held on Sunday October 16, 2005 between the hours of 4:00PM and 7:00PM at Reeves Funeral Home, 408 East Washington Street (one block East of Illinois Route 47) in Morris. Funeral services will follow on Monday October 17, 2005 at 10:00AM in Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Morris, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated with Rev. Richard Smith officiating.

Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery.
