Glen J. Beverly

Age 68, of Morris, Illinois, formerly of Plainfield, Illinois, died on May 29,2025 at St.Joseph’s Hospital in Joliet, Illinois.

Born on July 23,1956 in Joliet, Illinois. Glen was a son of Charles and Dorothy (Saxon) Beverly. Glen graduated in 1974 from Plainfield High School, where he was a record-holding cross country runner.

He then pursued his career, completing an apprenticeship with the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) Local 176. Glen dedicated more than three decades of his life, proudly working as a journeyman electrician on many area construction projects. He retired at the age of 55, leaving a legacy of professionalism and dedication.

Glen had a strong appreciation for hands-on work and spent much of his time restoring his historic home, always finding something to build, repair or improve. He was a true craftsman and liked things done correctly. His adventurous spirit led him to become a certified scuba diver, licensed small aircraft pilot and a licensed hot air balloon pilot. He loved sharing his passion for ballooning by providing many rides to family and friends in his two balloons. He was fascinated by weather and followed it with genuine interest. Glen was an environmentalist and enjoyed the outdoors, whether working, flying, camping, hiking or relaxing with nature. Glen found real joy in the company of his dogs- Coco Bob, Butterfield and Tanner. They were his constant companions and a big part of his daily life.

He is survived by two brothers: Thomas (Randee) Beverly and Mark Beverly, three sisters: Janet Lane, Cheryl Beverly and Jane May. Also nieces and nephews: Nolan Broxton, Brent Beverly, Dana Beverly, Steven Beverly, Brock Beverly, Caleigh Ranstead and Makenzie Aziz.

Glen was preceded in death by his parents and niece Brittany Lattina.

A private Celebration of Life service will be held at a later date.
