Obituary

Glorpha C. Markl

"Gloria"

Age 79 of Morris, Illinois, formerly of Verona, Illinois, died peacefully on Tuesday, July 28, 2026 at her home.

Born July 16, 1947 in Chicago Heights, Gloria was a daughter of Gerald and Marguerite (Greep) Love. She was raised in Chicago Heights and spent much of her professional career working for UPS as a parcel driver until her well earned retirement. Gloria was a generous woman who strove to better the world in her own small ways through contributing to the Arbor Day Foundation and Catholic Societies. She was a woman of deep faith and was proud of her Catholic beliefs.

Gloria had many interests, but she especially enjoyed crafting projects, particularly decorating with faux floral arrangements. She also had a love of live plants and cared for both her outdoor and indoor plants with a deft hand. Gloria understood the importance of those who went before us, and honored her departed family and friends by caring to her family's monuments and gravesites. Her generous and loving heart will be felt for years to come through the impact and small acts of kindness she imparted on any person who came into her life.

Survivors include one brother, Gilford Love of Vista, California; and her niece and nephew: David Love and Carolyn Love.

Gloria was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Jim Markl, and son, Vincent Berry, as well as one sister, Gail, and one brother, Garland.

The family will receive friends at Fruland Funeral Home, 121 West Jefferson Street, in Morris on Saturday, August 1, 2026 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of funeral service at 11:00 a.m.. Burial will follow at Sherburnville Christian Church Cemetery where she will be laid to rest with her son, Vincent, and brother, Garland.
